Considering Marriage?
A couple considering marriage first should understand the depth and scope of this commitment. They should not jump into it without prayer and guidance. God desires a marriage to be a lifelong commitment, not something you walk away from like a temporary arrangement.
"This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. Since they are no longer two but one, let no one split apart what God has joined together."

A Christ-Centered Foundation
The man and the woman should have a very clear understanding of the person they are considering to marry before becoming engaged. Christian couples should not partner with and live in harmony with unbelievers.
The only way to have a Christ-centered, stable foundation for a marriage is to be firmly grounded in one's faith and make sure that their potential partner for marriage is equally grounded and dedicated to God. Christian men and women should live their lives with God in the center of all that they do.
Gaining an understanding of God's Word and developing a personal relationship with Him through prayer, Bible reading and yielding to the Holy Spirit for guidance is the first and most important step in determining His will for us. The advice of the world on dating and engagement should only be considered based on God's truths in the Bible scriptures.
